The World Of Sleep Poem by Gladden Scribbles

The World Of Sleep

I saw you weep in light agleam
led by a hand from the world of dream
I saw you quivering, muttering
of some words above my hearing

sleep, sleep, sleep

This world is not your home
Or where your legs could roam;
Constant turmoil overtakes peace
Life is now the friend of the rich

Sleep, sleep, sleep

The face of the earth is filled with pain
Yearning has now become men's bane
And there were times feelings overrules
That I wished I was in heaven's pool

Sleep, sleep, sleep

The owner knew you were in pain
And gave you wings over vale of strain
That like a dove in bright daylight,
You flew to the world of light

Sleep, sleep sleep

The owner is forever just
He would see us reunite after dust
When the bell toll in my longing ears
To sleep in this world of tears.
