(1) Afterthoughts Poem by Sandra Fowler

(1) Afterthoughts

Rating: 3.3

Words will no longer come from you to me,
Handwritten from a land of minarets.
The imagery still lights my afterthoughts,
I wish you a long sunset, poet friend.

How strange the loss of letters matters when
We never met in ordinary life.
And yet, 'As always' is my signature.
I hope warmth travels safely without stamps.

My eyes look through the old panes of the soul,
Remembering work of threadbare elegance.
Perhaps such verses will survive your west,
Invoking dawn against a distant glass.

‘As always’ you are tall in warmth and elegance You sing sweet songs from a distant shore Handwritten notes might fly away in the wind Soul’s dialogues are imperishable imprints. Each passing phase of the sun and the moon Remind of the changing faces of the beauty, Old panes of the soul never get blurred, On them reflects the undying eternity. As always, your signature’s lingering scent Our souls will ever exchange in trance, We will from its sweet fragrance know Of the Spring bower your music flow. Your and my thoughts will entwine, As echo of the gong sound divine. Warm regards, CP

You say we've never met in ordinary life, yet your words evoke friendship on the highest level - spiritual. Lovely poem. It somehow seems to connect poets from all over the world. What a great gift! Thank you for sharing with us. RoseAnn

I wish you a long sunset, poet friend............ sweet memories haunting here...nostalgia writeen all ove this stanza...a long sunset is such a vibrant phrase....I loved this one.... I hope warmth travels safely without stamps...........I tuly believe in this magnetism..warmth doesnt reuire any stamp, it travels thru all media and reaches its destination (Donno if you have read my poem callled MAGNETS) Perhaps such verses will survive your west, Invoking dawn against a distant glass............... This verse is really a masterpiece and one can really dive deep in its meaning...milions of interpretations can be drawn here...really meaningful and nice... well done Sandra...your friend must have to be special...AS ALWAYS
