Plea For Universal Peace Poem by Mohammad Younus

Plea For Universal Peace

My Lord, I stand before you in Qiyam...
...not in the hopes of being granted peace...
...on me alone...
...but to be bestowed upon all...
...humans and non humans;
My Lord, I bend my knees in thy presence in Raku...
...and I come not with a begging bowl...
...for me alone...
...but charity of peace for all...
...humans and non humans;
My Lord, I confess to all my misdeeds...
...that are not worthy of a lover of peace;
My Lord, I prostrate myself before you in Sajdah...
...in humility and gratitude...
...for asking peace for me and for all...
...humans and non humans;
My Lord! for everything in thy vast Universes...
...this poor soul, pleads to you...
...in murmurs and whispers...
...for granting us peace and to all...
...humans and non humans;
My Lord, I shall continue to pray to you...
...for bestowing peace upon me and all...
...humans and non humans...
...till such time...
...that you find my prayers for peace...
...worthy of your approval;
A lovely glance!
A motherly hug!
A sweet smile!
Not a grimace!
