Can There Be Worse Than Endless-Fountain'd Grief Poem by Orin MSH

Can There Be Worse Than Endless-Fountain'd Grief

Can there be worse than endless-fountain'd grief,
More pain, still fraught with agues of suffering
O Savior mine, whose Divine ease, shall bring
O Blessing for the World, such sweet Relief
The secret cries of burdened beasts, a leaf
Weeps, ceaseless agonies, the old should sing -
Dull lullabies, pangs of regret did ring
From Morpheus's dreamless sleep, a deep Belief

Where are the minds like Somnus who fashions all
The frightening shapes in vastly hulking heaps
Cool shaded forms in Erebus, enthrall
O Mighty beasts, phantasmal, guarding the Deeps
A wretched life, more wretched than The Fall
A Life shaded in Death as much as sleep.
